City style, waterfront location
Plazacorp releases the second phase of West Harbour City
Take an urban waterfront location. Add resort-style living, large suite layouts and energy-efficient design. The result is West Harbour City, Phase 2.
Located near the foot of Bathurst Street, on the north side of Fleet Street, West Harbour City 2 is the newest addition to Plazacorp’s successful west waterfront condominium community. Designed to compliment the site’s first phase tower, the new building features pre-cast cladding resembling fine limestone and accentuated with traditional birch elements. It has also been designed with a range of energy-efficient features meant to bring energy savings throughout the building and on to the suite level.
The tower’s heat transfer technology, for example, means that heat from warmer areas can be transferred on demand to cooler spots, so that heat is never wasted – a technology Plazacorp has been using to great effect for 10 years. The building also incorporates double-glazed windows throughout; ENERGY STAR appliances; individually metered electricity; and water conservation shower heads, faucets and toilets. All of these add up to energy savings and a lighter footstep on the earth.
“Plazacorp has always taken into consideration the energy costs of their buyers,” says Nestor Repetski, senior partner at Winick Realty Corp., the marketing and sales company for the Plazacorp project. “We’ve designed West Harbour City 2 with this in mind. We’ve also created a suite selection with today’s buyers in mind – we’re seeing a huge demand for large suites in today’s market, and we’ve responded to that.”
The second phase building gives buyers plenty to choose from in its large-suite selection, with none of the tiny studio or one-bedroom suites that are popular with investors. Instead, the building has been designed for end users, with one-bedroom-plus-den layouts starting at 703 sq. ft., and penthouses of over 2,000 sq. fr., with prices starting from $249,990.
Suites come with nine-ft. ceilings throughout the building and a balcony or terrace for every suite. They also feature fireplaces; engineered hardwood flooring; granite, marble or porcelain floors; 60-oz. plush, sisal or Berber carpeting; Paris kitchen cabinetry; granite and marble countertops; ceramic tile or mirrored kitchen backsplashes; Kohler faucets; and a six-piece KitchenAid and Whirlpool appliance package available in stainless steel, white or black.
The building also offers future residents an extensive list of amenities to enjoy. In addition to the 24-hour concierge, a second Executive Personal Services Concierge and two well-appointed guest suites, the 11th floor Harbour Club has been designed to be one of the most spectacular waterfront recreational centres created, with extensive windows allowing in natural light as well as panoramic views of the city. The club features a state-of-the-art fitness spa with TV viewing for working out; a pool and whirlpool surrounded by indoor decks and cruise-ship style walk-around promenades; and the Harbour Club Lounge with a serving bar, fireplace seating and a theatre with large screen television. All of it is WiFi enabled, allowing residents to surf the web or send e-mails from anywhere in the club. There will also be a professionally managed a-la-carte program, allowing residents to take part in anything from fitness instruction, swimming lessons, yoga classes, aquafit, martial arts, to whatever else they may desire.
All of that, in a location close to plentiful food shopping at Sobey’s, Rabbas or the nearby 24-hour Dominion store, as well as all of the entertainment and excitement of Harbourfront. Thirty-three acres of waterfront greenspace is situated across the street at Coronation Park, one of the city’s best-kept secrets, while the shops and restaurants of King and Queen Streets West are a short walk away. Located in a new award-winning neighbourhood most people are referring to as Harbourfront West, West Harbour City gives residents easy access to downtown and immediate access to the lake.
The West Harbour City sales office and model suites are located at 620 Fleet St., just west of Bathurst, and are open weekends and holidays from noon to 5 p.m., and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m.; closed Thursday and Friday. Visit www.westharbourcity.com for more information.
